At the Shop

Rehearsals for our NEW musical "Doo Wops and Beauty Shops" began this week.

Actor Stephn Wayne conjures his inner-crooner as 'Largo.'

Jeff Querin gearing up to play the excitable-neurotic-cheerful, 'Marty.'

Maria Householder as the pregnant, and lovably awkward, "Rose."

You saw her call the pig races and now Rebecca Whittenberger is sassy "Sally."

How else would you celebrate Valentine's Day?

Simplicity at its Best

Cotton Candy. Pig races. Vintage Radio tunes. This past weekend we opened the "Grand Ole Jamboree' with plenty of hoots and hollers to go around.

Maybe folks liked seeing a family who sticks together through thick 'n thin. Maybe others liked singing along to tunes they hadn't heard since they were kids on the farm.

You see it's reminiscent of days gone by- when you were enraptured by the radio on any given Saturday evening.

There's no crime scene here, no celebrity detective, or weirdo political hidden agenda. The story is quite plainly an ol' time radio show that's broadcast from the county fair.

Its crazy, its sentimental, its a reminder of gentler times.

But our audiences never seem to mind the 'simplicity' of it all.

In fact, if this last weekend was any indication, they seemed to be glowing afterward. Like they just drank a big glass of 'happy'. They're giddy with delight and so very thankful they bought a ticket.

But that's what you get when you come see a 34 west show. Simplicity at its best.

Thanks Jan West for the great pics! Thanks Maria, Rebecca, Jeff, Steve, Carla, Lana, Barb for bringing a whole lotta joy to a whole lotta folks this weekend!
