We had only been open for six months when Tony Award-winning (and Olivier winning!) producer Greg Nobile attended a performance at 34 West.
He recently had this to say about his experience…
"“Visiting 34 West has long been, and remains, one of my most memorable and enjoyable theater experiences ever. I was visiting a high school friend in Charleston when we stumbled upon the storefront theater that shared a vestibule with , if I remember correctly, a Dunkin Donuts. I quickly began peering in the windows, intrigued by the nontraditional location and charming theater branding. Further intrigued, my friend and I returned later that night for a show. We were greeted by the proprietors, who were also the producers, and also the popcorn handlers, and then later the stars of that night’s performance. I was endlessly charmed by the delightful show and singular experience.”
“But more than anything, as a theater producers, I was blown away by the ingenuity of the concept and hustle of the owners. I was so impressed I reached out to meet the guys while on vacation and have been following the rising success of the theater ever since. I think of my first trip to that delicious storefront theater often, and I can’t wait to come back."
We’ve followed Greg’s success on Broadway and beyond ever since that very cold night in January of 2015. He continues to push the boundaries of theatre as it exists, for the betterment of all- and we are here for it!!
